Travel Green

You’ve heard the words: – “Tread Lightly”, “Sustainable tourism,” ecotourism “,” Responsible Travel “- and one might think, adventure travel, rafting in the jungles of Borneo, or cycling through New Zealand. Of course, the conditions (if done well), but the real meat behind the terminology is in how the trip is done. If you’re cycling in Italy, throwing plastic bottles and food packaging on the road for better or worse, you’re not just travel green. Under Sustainable Travel International is green travel around weight loss, “Journey toll on the environment and local cultures” .

With nearly 1 billion people around the world cruise every year as tourists, more than just a cliché – it is an important consideration. To preserve the fabulous places you visit for the next generation of travelers interested in taking advantage of (or for you to get to a later date!) Here are some things you can do to help:

* Invest in a carbon offset program. Stealing is where the greatest impact on the environment, but as an international railway is not really an option continues, the programs of carbon offsetting is another way to limit the damage. These programs allow people to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide they are responsible for claims leakage of CO2 or elsewhere, where it is cheaper to make this reduction. Carbon offsets typically include renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects. There are several programs to choose from – check the list of recommended projects, managed by the Environmental Defense Fund.
* A “Green Hotel Select. Before booking your questions 1) when the hotel is locally owned and local staff, 2) where recycling programs have 3), where guests have the option of reusing towels and sheets changed every day, instead, 4) if they use low-flow toilets, energy efficient lighting, or the use of alternative energy sources like solar, and 5) if they provide the local community . You can also visit a website such as “Green Hotels Association, to find a good candidate.
* Choose tour operators in the environment. Before booking, roughly the size of all issues (often less impact on smaller groups, and even more enjoyable for part thereof) was led by local people (better understanding body anyway), and whether the merger would give the community something back.
* During a visit to the beautiful natural places, stay on marked trails, not picking flowers and takes you with your trash. Make sure that any site with pictures and items appear that you packed in.
* Buy locally. Spring Mickie D’s and is local to the joint. You can taste the local cuisine and support the local economy. As bypass local crafts and buy imported junk. In addition, local crafts and souvenir gifts better. Simply avoiding animal products and plants threatened with extinction occurs. You will usually have already confiscated at customs.
* To consider tourism as a volunteer! Combine a new place to see popular support. Voluntourism.org offers ideas for excursions to various guarantees Fuzzies hot side.
